ABOUT VENTANA

Planted in 1974, the historic Ventana Vineyard is a 300-acre, SIP® certified vineyard in Monterey County’s Arroyo Seco AVA. As multi-generational farmers, we commit to doing what is best for the land. This means sustainable farming practices that protect the grapes, the land, and the people in our community.

Ventana is the Spanish word for “window.” The vineyard's name comes directly from its location in the shadow of the Santa Lucia Mountains in the Ventana Wilderness of Monterey County. Each afternoon, the maritime influences of the Pacific crawl through between the peaks, like a cat entering through an open window. This coming effect creates the perfect conditions in which to grow world-class, cool-climate varietals like Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.
